Welcome to Oyado KafugetsuOur inn is in the middle of the forest, and all our rooms have a hot-spring bath indoors and one outdoors.
In addition to your room’s bath, we have a hot-spring bath with a view of a popular waterfall available for our overnight guests. The bath is called “Takimi no yu.” We also have an exclusive-use private baths you can use whenever it’s not occupied.
Indulge in hot-spring bathing at your leisure in a space surrounded by nature that emphasizes privacy.
*Only adults are permitted to stay at our inn.

Kyushu, Kumamoto, Aso - Kafugetsu is not far from Kurokawa Onsen.Our inn is nestled among peaceful mountains, and all our rooms are detached structures.
We permit only adults to stay because we want you to be able to spend some leisurely time with that special person.
Only five groups of guests stay at Kafugetsu each day.

All rooms are detached structures with one outdoor bath and one indoor bathAll rooms have one indoor bath and one outdoor bath, both with water flowing directly from the hot spring source.Each room has a different size and structure.

An outdoor bath where you experience the dynamism of natureIn the outdoor bath with a waterfall view, you will see two waterfall pools right in front of you. This gender-segregated bath with plenty of negative ions allows you to experience nature up close.

For couples and groups of adultsWe respectfully decline children elementary school age and under so our guests can enjoy quiet and tranquility.

A short time relaxing in a room close to natureOur rooms come in three types: Japanese-style room, Japanese/Western-style room, and Special Suite.
Each comes with its own indoor bath and outdoor bath so you can fully enjoy bathing in water flowing directly from the hot spring source whenever you like.

Special Suite-Shikisai-
Comes with an outdoor bath and an indoor bath
This is a Special Suite available to just one group of guests per day. Complete with large outdoor and indoor baths. There is also a private room used just for the evening meal.

Japanese-style room
Comes with an outdoor bath and an indoor bath
This is an ample space with two Japanese-style rooms.We recommend this room type for use by groups of adults.

Japanese/Western-style room
Comes with an outdoor bath and an indoor bath
This is our Japanese/Western-style room type, which is popular with couples. Relax in a Japanese-style room, then use a large bed when it’s time to rest.

This full-course meal includes plenty of local ingredients.We use only the most delicious, carefully chosen meat, including Japanese brown beef Akaushi from Kumamoto and wagyu beef.
We serve dishes made with seasonal ingredients only available here, including vegetables freshly picked every morning and delivered by a farmer we contract with, and rice grown locally with the utmost care.

Dine at your leisure in a private dining roomThe meal begins with appetizers featuring seasonal flavors, followed by horse sashimi, river fish, and then the main course of meat dishes. Enjoy a delicious local sake with your dinner.

 
 

About breakfastClassic Japanese breakfast dishes that go well with rice. Breakfast comes with fresh vegetables, eggs, miso soup containing seasonal ingredients, and appetizing side dishes. Both breakfast and dinner will be served in the same private dining room.

You can bathe in water flowing directly from the hot-spring source in your room, in the large public bath and in the private baths.Kafugetsu’s baths all use water flowing directly from the hot-spring source.
Guests can bathe in their room’s outdoor and indoor baths, in the separate large baths for men and women “Takimi no yu,” and in two exclusive-use private baths.

Perfect outdoor baths where you can experience natureA big, open-air bath that takes advantage of the natural scenery and looks and feels different depending on the season or even the day’s weather. These outdoor baths come in various shapes and are in multiple locations. Find your favorite and spend some leisurely hot-spring time.

Takinoue Onsen Oyado KafugetsuThere are signs along Route 442, which leads to Kurokawa Onsen.

 

Kafugetsu is right next to Kurokawa Onsen. Look for the sign along the main street. We can pick you up or drop you off at the Kurokawa Onsen bus stop. Let us know in advance if you need to be picked up or dropped off.
